Life Lately - 03.18

My life lately has mostly been working and Calliope and playing Portal 2 with Jason (which is amazingly fun by the way). But what else has been going on?

I've been working hard at trying to eat healthier and be more active. I'm using the Noom app on my phone and you can use it to keep track of everything you eat and anytime you workout. The food tracking is easy because instead of counting calories, everything is rated as either green yellow or red. You want at least half green, 35% yellow, and less than 15% red. So far I've been doing pretty well. There have been a couple days since I started at the end of February where I just threw it all out and ate whatever I wanted, but since I've started keeping track of my food I've lost 7 pounds and my eating habits have definitely gotten a lot better. I've also been running sporadically (thank you Clueless for that word, lol) and I started going to a Zumba class. It's kinda difficult to keep up with at first, but it's a lot of fun. I've only been twice but I'm planning to go back every Monday and Thursday. So we'll see if I can keep that up.


So, enough about all that stuff. Calliope is so close to actually walking. She's taken a few steps at a time, but she still hasn't completely mastered it. She gets really excited when we try to practice and ends up just falling over, but you can tell she's pretty determined. Probably by her first birthday, which is coming up so fast I can hardly believe it! I'm designing her birthday invites right now and hopefully will have those sent out by the end of the month. It's just crazy that she's almost one! We won't be doing anything ridiculous for her birthday, just family and cake and ice cream. And presents of course. I'm not sure what we're planning to get her. I kind of want to get her a wagon or something for going on walks when it gets nice outside. I can't wait until she's big enough for a bike. I also want to get her a little smash cake and let her go crazy. I gave her a little bit of frosting the last time I made a cake and she thought it was the greatest thing in the world, so she'll love that.

Well, I'm babysitting Calliope's cousin, Hannah today. This picture was taken this morning before their naps, looks like they're best friends already, but really they were fighting over fruit loops, haha.  They're just finishing up their lunches now so I should probably stop rambling and get ready for the afternoon crazyness.
